Personality: self sufficient, quick to anger, easily confused by jokes or puns, tries to maintain an air of calm (usually fails), socially awkward, incredibly smart, often lost in thought, highly competitive, poor loser, somewhat childish

History:

-born in Mahogany Town, Johto
-very smart kid with no social skills
-parents put in pokemonland equivalent of scouts (NidoScouts?) to try and encourage social activity, eventually became ranger through the program
-noticed pokemon forme differentiation on ranger duty, started doing research on the side
-started aiming to obtain pokemon with different formes to help with research
-only rarely battled until encounter with gravedigger
-thought it was hype as shit
-started studying battling
-sudden interest in TMs and HMs, specifically in their application and development
-came to challenger island to increase skills as a battler and be around other trainers for ‘research’

Additional Notes:

• unless you tell her not to, if you have a name longer than two syllables she WILL give you a nickname. usually a shortened version of a full name since she’s uncreative

• cannot stand being touched.

• tries to be ‘professional’ at all times, but often fails (nice, sharp clothing covered in pokemon hair, making faces at people without realizing it, has no pokerface whatsoever)

• skinny as fuck and can’t throw a punch or lift anything very heavy, but has good stamina and retained a lot of knowledge from her ranger days (ie how to climb well, what is and isnt edible in the woods)

• surprisingly graceful and actually a talented swing dancer.

• worlds most impressive attention span. never gets bored, can stay on task for basically forever. incredibly focused and driven, always adheres to a schedule, but still manages to be somewhat flexible depending on the priority level of the tasks at hand.

• has multiple outfits, all of which can be considered 'business casual' and all of which were just sets she bought off of mannequins because she really doesnt understand how style works. she also has a standard issue ranger uniform she wears when she's going to be doing a lot of walking/outdoors work.

Battle Style: She’s still relatively new to the whole battling thing, having previously used her pokemon for ranger tasks like going on rescue missions or dealing with natural disasters. She knows how to use her pokemon to their potential; it’s just a matter of her learning how to apply this knowledge to the battle scene. When battling, she starts out calm, but as things progress she starts to lose her cool and yell a lot whenever her opponent gets the edge on her. Basically, her pokemon follow their instincts somewhat while she tries to improvise strategies, and when her opponent gets an advantage she’s in the background doing this.

Species: Ursaring, male

Bio:

-The first pokemon given to Lenina in her days as a Ranger, originally given to her as a Teddiursa specifically bred for the purpose of being a ranger companion. He’s big and powerful, but also a pretty lazy softy unless he’s provoked. He’s Lenina’s main mode of transport for long distance travel and has a great deal of stamina. He also hits like a truck in battles, but he’s very slow and relies on taking out an opponent in as few moves as possible.

Lenina tends to call him Rick for short. Ulfric is in a Friend Ball.

BARNABUS

Species: Buizel, male
Ability: Swift Swim
Nature: Jolly nature, impetuous and silly

Bio:

-Another pokemon recieved through the Ranger program, Barnabus is an adorable ball of affection who loves absolutely everyone. He’s excitable and exuberant and has something of a naughty streak, often pranking his trainer or doing other mischeivious things to try and garner attention. He LOVES being petted and talked to and has a tendency to climb all over people and get up in their personal space. In battle, due to his small size, he relies on his incredible speed and agility to take down an opponent. He can’t take many hits, but he’s surprisingly clever and has quick reflexes to deflect attacks.

Lenina calls him Barney for short. Barnabus is in a Friend Ball.

NICODEMUS

Species: Noctowl, male
Ability: Keen Eye
Nature: Modest nature, somewhat stubborn

Main Moveset: HYPNOSIS, FORESIGHT, SUBSTITUTE, EXTRASENSORY
Bio:

-Nicodemus was a pokemon Lenina recieved through the Ranger pokemon as part of a rehabilitation project. Caught as a Hoothoot with a seriously injured wing, he was unfortunately treated too late after the initial injury and was crippled as a result, being unable to fly even after evolving. He can flutter short distances, but any prolonged flight is out of the question. As a result, he is understandably cranky, but also learned to deal with his lack of mobility by honing his psychic abilities. He can predict an opponent’s moves and counter them accordingly, but his lack of mobility still hinders him, especially if he’s against a faster opponent.

More than one person has noted that he tends to reflect his trainer’s expressions, and he’s the member of her team she spends the least time being exasperated with. Lenina calls him Nick for short. Nicodemus is in a Heal Ball.

FREYA

Species: Floette, female
Ability: Flower Veil
Nature: Quiet nature, strongly defiant

Main Moveset: ECHOED VOICE, DAZZLING GLEAM, PETAL DANCE, TOXIC
Bio:

-Once she discovered her interest in studying various pokemon formes, Lenina decided one of the best ways to study them was to have one herself. Enter Freya, a pokemon that has weirded Lenina out since they day they met. For whatever reason, the Floette was completely mute, an unnerving enough trait when combined with her unblinking, black-eyed stare; however, when a stroke of curiosity overcame Lenina and she got a hold of an Echoed Voice TM and used it on Freya, the effect was that now there was a constant horrifying whispering the pokemon seemed unable (or unwilling) to silence. Now Lenina is the not-so-proud owner of a bug-eyed, whispering flower demon with a surprisingly violent demeanor. Her small stature makes her incredibly evasive, and she has a weirdly sadistic attitude in fights, often inflicting the most slow, painful attacks she can manage. She also refuses to let anyone fight dragon-types, taking it upon herself to slay them.

GRAVEDIGGER

Species: Noivern, female
Ability: Infiltrator
Nature: Rash nature, likes to fight

Main Moveset: AIR SLASH, DRAGON PULSE, SUPER FANG, WILD CHARGE
Bio:

-Lenina was assigned to a mission to stop a marauding pokemon that was tormenting hikers and tourists on a mountain route, and that pokemon was Gravedigger. The Noivern was intense and power hungry, attacking people and pokemon alike, and Lenina was nearly thrown from the mountainside during her confrontation with the dragon. Luckily, Lenina’s Floette came to her rescue and took out the Noivern with great pleasure. Lenina captured the pokemon and showed it off to the Rangers who assigned her the mission, who decided she should keep it. She named the pokemon herself, a name that unnerved her higherups a bit, but she was still a bit put out that the dragon nearly killed her.

Gravedigger loves fighting. While she is very strong and stunningly fast, she’s cocky and oversure of her abilites and quick to anger. She doesn’t always listen to her trainer, but she’s terrified of Freya and Lenina doesn’t hesitate to threaten the Noivern with the very mention of Freya’s name.

Lenina calls her Gigi for short (and for fun). Gravedigger is in a Fast Ball.

BOHDI

Species: Darmanitan, male
Ability: Zen Mode
Nature: Bold nature, good perseverance

Main Moveset: SUPERPOWER, HEADBUTT, REST, OVERHEAT
Bio:

-Bohdi was captured by Lenina in an honest battle during a Ranging trip to Unova. She was determined to capture a Zen Mode Darmanitan after finding out about their abilities in her studies, and the pokemon seemed happy to challenge her. Bohdi is an incredibly intelligent and very curious pokemon who loves learning just as much as his trainer does. He considers battles to be a learning experience as well; he’s fierce and wary of his opponents, but any time he grows weak enough to activate his Zen Mode ability, his normal mindset gives way to pure self-defense and some amount of panic.
